About Kate

I make complex digital systems easier to use.

I’m a Baltimore-based digital consultant working at the intersection of design, technology, analytics, and accessibility. I help mission-led teams build thoughtful websites and systems that work for the people using them and the people responsible for keeping them running.

How I work

Access is part of the strategy.

My work starts with a simple question: can the people this is for understand it, use it, and keep using it after launch?

That means accessibility is not a final compliance pass. It shows up in information architecture, interaction design, content, measurement, documentation, and training. The goal is a digital experience that removes friction without flattening the personality out of the work.

Selected work

Web accessibility in practice

Examples from learning platforms, analytics infrastructure, and the systems that help teams sustain accessible work.

01Accessible learning

A WCAG-aligned e-learning platform

Designed and built an e-learning experience around WCAG guidance, then added GA4 measurement so the organization could understand participation and strengthen future grant applications.

Impact: Accessible delivery paired with evidence for future funding.

02Understandable systems

Technical work people can actually maintain

Created documentation and led training on migrations, project planning, analytics, and security tools for people with a wide range of technical experience.

Impact: Less dependency, clearer handoffs, and more confident teams.

03Measurable journeys

Analytics that reveal where people get stuck

Repaired broken Shopify and Google Analytics integrations and built GA4 and Tag Manager systems across websites, campaigns, podcasts, and learning platforms.

Impact: Cleaner data for improving content, navigation, and conversion paths.

This page, too

Built to demonstrate the standard.

Accessibility is most credible when it is visible in the work itself. This page includes:

  • Semantic landmarks and a logical heading order
  • Visible keyboard focus and a skip-to-content link
  • High-contrast text and controls
  • Reduced-motion support
  • Responsive layouts with comfortable reading widths
  • Plain-language labels and descriptive link text
